The details and tiny knots and twirls in the wood ~ inspiring details as we built this 100+ft wood fence the last few days...

I know things have been a little quieter as of late on the features side (NOTCOT.org is still bursting with all the things that inspire us daily!), but to be completely honest, this season i've been stepping back to think about where we are, where we've been, and where to head with all things NOTCOT! In doing so, manual labor and finding inspiration in new places... and this week it's been in WOOD!

Shawn and I built over 100ft of horizontal wooden fence with 1"x4" clear redwood, and along the way i've found myself staring into all the tiny knots and topographic looking details that emerge as we organized each and every panel... check out some of the details below!

It goes all the way down to the hammock you see at the end there...
See? Hammocks! This is a patio in progress... but for now, perfect for hanging out with the new fence... lots of baby steps!
These teeny tiny knots look like tadpoles...
Some sections still have puppy prints that make it look like Bucky climbed up the wall...
